About the event
Yoga has been shown to foster countless physical, emotional, and energetic benefits, yet many people who seek to learn yoga and desire its benefits often feel marginalized or unwelcome in yoga classes and studios. The universality of yoga as a science, as a philosophy, as a moving practice is meant to be accessible and include all who wish to practice with no exclusions or barriers because of age, body size, physical ability, gender, race, culture, self-identity, or even financial situation.Â
This workshop will combine lecture, discussion, and demonstration to explore the many ways yoga instruction and practice can create and hold space for everybody and every body. The workshop will conclude with a 15 minute guided relaxation.
Participants will have the option to explore safe and appropriate yoga movement during the demonstrations. Please dress in comfortable and loose clothing if you plan to participate in the movement portion.
Tickets are not required.
